I am getting a huge stack of toy catalogs in the mail. It’s that time of year, of course.
As we’ve been doing daycare for a year now, we’ve acquired A LOT of toys, and I’ve also gone through a few times and made drastic reductions. I feel like I’m starting to get a grip on […]

My brother just had his Eagle Court, to receive an celebrate his Eagle Scout from the Boyscouts. It was a lovely event, and very important to him.
Many people have problems with the Boyscouts, and I can understand their reasons. I don’t plan on doing Boy or Girl […]

With kids in the house, everything seems to get food, fingerprints, paint, milk, vomit, or something else on it. My furniture is all stained in some way, and I am very thankful that I have hardwood floors rather than carpet that would also be stained. I would love to get rid of my sofa, as […]

Two years ago, I made a felt stocking for Carbon. The goal was to make one a year until I had them for the whole family. I’m using kits, but they still take a long time to finish with all these little sequins sewn on by hand, etc. Last year I started one for my […]

I’m still working on my 1000 Cookies in 2007 to Benefit Women with Fistula project. Sadly, I haven’t made much progress since my last post about it. I need to do a couple 100 cookies weeks, to push the numbers up. I’m going to try and make 2 batches of cookies today, since I’m going […]

I’m pretty happy with the way Carbon’s tree has turned out - not quite what I had in MY head, but this is supposed to be his project after all. He had a lot of fun making it, and it does express his view of what a habitat is. Really, not bad for a 4 year […]

For every Earth Scout badge, there are three steps: 1)Inspire 2) Create 3) Act
I think of these as entries in their badge books:
1) What did I learn?
2) What did I make?
3) What did I do?
For our current badge, we did a group activity with yarn that created a food web in our circle of […]
