Draw Me a Story

I was recently browsing my library when I happened upon a DVD called Draw Me a Story: Nasreddin’s Coat. We were already familiar with that story - in fact the humorous tale is one of my favorites. So I grabbed the DVD, figuring that the kids might enjoy it during quiet time. The “action” of the story turned out to be supplied by a hand doing quick chalk drawings as the story was told by a narrator. It is charming, and I think inspiring for young budding artists to watch.
We’ve checked two other stories from the series out, and my library catalog boasts many, many more, so we have tons of fun viewing in front of us. Each story has a different art form illustrating it. We watched The Brown Cow (a slightly odd and disturbing tale from Russia) which was illustrated with fabric cutouts, and Cinderella. I can’t find the DVD’s at Amazon, but I did find another site talking about them. If you can find them, check them out!

Ooh, this sounds good..I’ll have to check it out
if I can find it.
