Blog Blast for Peace
Today is the day for the Blog Blast for Peace, which I first saw over at Mom Unplugged. To join in, you are just supposed to write a post about peace. There is an official website where you can see posts from around the world.
What does peace mean to me? Peace is more than the absence of war. Peace is a spirit of compassion and cooperation. It is when we look at our fellow man and truly try to see them in their best light. It’s the small things, like stopping for pedestrians to cross the street, and it’s the big things, like giving of your time and money to help people in need. But it is always guided by a sense of compassion and fellowship with all other people (and animals and plants too) on this planet.
Peace on Earth will come with a fair sharing of resources, so that no one needs to struggle to obtain the basic needs of their survival. It will come with justice, so that no one needs to fight against oppression or live under another’s boots. Peace comes with love. How can we act as if we love our planet and everyone on it?
Peace is more than government policy. Peace is a way of life, living a pure expression of love and compassion. It starts with how you treat yourself, your family, your children, your neighbors, your fellow-citizens, and all the people of the whole world. When we examine how our actions affect others, and choose the path that takes the least and gives the most, we are choosing peace.
