Felt Food
Jul 10th, 2008 by learningumbrella
I’m going to get around to posting about books, and plants, and homeschool routines, and deep thoughts I’ve been thinking.
But first, here’s the distraction that came up this week! Carbon decided he didn’t have enough play food, and that I should fix that problem immediately! Felt food, made to order! I’m a short-order felt food cook, so to speak.
His first request was a shrimp, which was paired with little cuts of felt to be seaweed for seaweed salad.
Up next was a fried egg.
To finish it all off, I made a banana (but I’m not happy with how that one turned out) and cut up green felt into lettuce leaves. The plate looks pretty good, I think.
All this took me about an hour, and kept them happy playing for almost the whole day. But now he’s thinking of other foods for me to make!

I LOVE that. Little ones are crazy about play food, and this is so much nicer than plastic. You are so creative!

Oh, I love it! So cute and creative!
Thomas used to make his own play food out of paper. He’d make strips and strips and strips of yellow french fries, oy. lol
I love the egg. So cute!
Tess still picks flowers and inedible leaves from the garden to make into “food.”
